Leonard Jones

About the Artist

Grew up in Lincolnton, Georgia. A high school graduate, he worked as a lumberjack. He still lives in Lincolnton in a house with no electricity or running water.

Leonard Jones lives in Lincolnton, NC in a simple home with no electricity or running water.

He paints primarily on tin roof scraps with house paint, depicting scenes from his childhood. He uses a broad brush to lay down large blocks of color, but for details he often breaks sticks into points or uses his fingers. In spite of these humble materials, his work is noted for its refined use of perspective and humorous subject matter.
